We felt that an event of national importance, steeped in history as it is, deserved a beer in keeping with the great traditions of our fair isle. We have produced a traditional best bitter for the great day. Dark malts give a sturdy backbone to gentle, fruity English hops; finishing with a clean bitterness that lingers briefly on the palette. This is the sort of beer that has been drunk in our lands for centuries, British to the core and able to quench a right royal thirst!
Our 4.8% best bitter, Old Crowning Glory, is available over the bank holiday weekend from The Old Crown, Hesket Newmarket. Pop in and raise a glass to His Majesty in one of his old haunts!
